Quick Quick Slow

Quick Quick Slow began life in the early Seventies as an award winning television play by David Turner. Julian More and Monty were asked to turn it into a stage musical. They readily agreed as it was one of the funniest scripts they had been offered. They remained true to the David Turner script adding songs where appropriate.
The show was first produced at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre and was well received by critics and audiences. It was bought for the West End by a producer who wanted Jimmy Edwards and Sheila Hancock to play the leads.
Unfortunately, the producer did not produce what he should have produced so the rights reverted to Julian, Monty and David Turner. Harold Fielding (one of Britain's most successful producers) then bought it as a vehicle for Dora Bryan bu again events overtook the show and it lost its momentum and was shelved.
Roger Redfarn (director of many succesful shows - including revivals of South Pacific, Annie Get Your Gun and A Little Night Music) had seen the original show in Birmingham and remembered it with great affection. In 1998 he decided to try and revive the show. |
